Turns out, this bloging thing is a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. It is like when you don't write a thank you note right away and keep putting it off and before you know it 2 months have passed. Now you have to write the note and apologize for your tardiness and explain why you didn't write sooner, which makes a much longer note than it would have been if you had written it when you should have. Just like this first paragraph of this new blog.
Maybe someday I will write about my summer vacation (just like in grade school) but now some words about this retirement business.
If I don't have a plan I seem to just flit the day away and today I didn't have a plan. After reading 2 newspapers and spending some time on the computer half the morning is over. So I look around for something I should be doing. (It is cold and snowing outside so no gardening today--yesterday was a beautiful day and I spent a couple of hours pulling weeds and cleaning up in the yard--I always feel like I have accomplished something after working in the yard) I noticed the apples that I picked from my apple trees-most of the apples had bites in them (squirrels) and many had some black stuff in the middle or black spots so I only had about 15 good ones. It only made 2 small containers but I will enjoy eating them knowing it was free.
I also watched a squirrel take a walnut and bury it in the backyard in the grass--I went to see if I could find it but no luck. I thought that was a pretty exciting part of my day.
I also watched a little, well more than a little, TV. I watched Jon Stewart, Top Chef and 2 episodes of the Ken Burns series about our National Parks which I highly recommend.
I am now getting ready to go to yoga first time in a month because of my 'summer vacation' and the instructor was out of town last week.
Hope to be back here soon.
